The short answer
The best Harrogate Convention Centre accommodation is in central Harrogate, within a short walk of Kings Road, so you can skip taxis and parking. For events lasting more than a night or two, a serviced apartment or house usually works better than a hotel room: you get space to prepare, a kitchen and somewhere quiet to unwind. Book early for the big shows, when the town fills up.
Where the Convention Centre is
Harrogate Convention Centre is on Kings Road (HG1 5LA), right in the town centre. It has around 13,000 square metres of event space and one of the largest purpose-built auditoriums in the UK, and it hosts hundreds of thousands of delegates a year. Because it's so central, almost everything you need, from restaurants to the station, is a short walk away.
Getting there
- By train – Harrogate station is about a seven-minute walk from the venue. LNER runs four direct services a day from London King's Cross, taking around 2 hours 46 minutes. Our guide to arriving by train helps you get your bearings.
- By air – Leeds Bradford Airport is about 12 miles away, roughly 20 minutes by taxi. The A2 bus runs hourly to Harrogate bus station, a five-minute walk from the venue.
- By car – use HG1 2HR for the Convention Centre car park, and check closing times before a late evening, as some car parks charge a release fee after hours.
Choosing your Harrogate Convention Centre accommodation
Anywhere in central Harrogate keeps you within walking distance, and the streets around Montpellier, Valley Gardens and the town centre are especially handy for evening dinners. Our guide to choosing the right neighbourhood in Harrogate compares the areas in more detail.
A hotel suits a single night. For anything longer, a serviced apartment has clear advantages:
- Room to work – a table to prepare a talk or catch up on emails, away from a busy hotel lobby. If you're staying on, see our guide to remote working in Harrogate.
- A proper kitchen – breakfast on your own schedule and a break from eating out every night.
- Space for a team – one home can sleep several colleagues, with a shared living room for planning sessions.
- Easier for exhibitors – build-up and breakdown days often stretch a stay, and a home is more comfortable for a week than a single room.
Busy dates to book early
Harrogate's events calendar is busy, and accommodation near the venue goes quickly around the bigger shows. Dates worth noting include:
- Knit + Stitch – 19 to 22 November 2026
- Harrogate Christmas & Gift (trade) – 10 to 13 January 2027
- BTME, the turf management exhibition – late January 2027
The venue is also investing around £9.4 million in its Studio Two space, due to finish in spring 2027, which will add breakout space for about 1,200 delegates. For everything else on in town, see what's on in Harrogate from October to December 2026.
After the sessions
One of the best things about a Harrogate conference is the evening. Good restaurants and pubs are a few minutes' walk from the venue; our guide to where to eat in Harrogate has our favourites. If you have a free afternoon, an hour at the Turkish Baths or a walk across the Stray is the perfect reset.
Practical tips
- Arrive the evening before if you can, especially for an early registration.
- Book as soon as your event dates are confirmed, particularly for November and January shows.
- If you're travelling as a group, one larger home is often better value and more sociable than several hotel rooms.
