The short answer

BTME 2027, the BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition, fills Harrogate Convention Centre from Sunday 24 to Thursday 28 January 2027, and the easiest way to enjoy it is to stay in central Harrogate and walk everywhere. For a week of education and the trade show, a serviced apartment or townhouse gives your team a kitchen, a shared living room and space to unwind after long days. Book early, as the whole town gets behind this busy week.

BTME 2027 at a glance

Run by BIGGA, the British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association, BTME brings together more than 100 exhibitors showing the latest sports turf products and innovations. The week starts with Continue to Learn, a programme of classes, conferences and seminars offering more than 250 hours of education for sports turf professionals and golf club staff. The trade show follows in the exhibition halls on Kings Road, HG1 5LA. Full details are on the official BTME website.

How the week works

  • Sunday 24 and Monday 25 January – Continue to Learn classes, with the conference on Monday.
  • Tuesday 26 January – the exhibition opens from 9am to 5pm, with a BTME breakfast session at 8am in the Queen’s Suite. The free BIGGA Celebration runs from 5.30pm to 6.45pm, with a complimentary welcome drink and no invitation needed.
  • Wednesday 27 January – the exhibition is open from 9am to 5pm, alongside classes, seminars and the New Greenkeepers Conference.
  • Thursday 28 January – the exhibition is open from 9am to 1pm, with seminars.

Many visitors come for the education early in the week and the halls later on, and staying for the full week lets you enjoy both.

Registering

BTME is free to attend for all visitors. Registration is required, and you can register in advance online or on site. Continue to Learn sessions are booked separately through the BTME website. The Convention Centre and the Royal Hall take card and contactless payments, so a bank card or phone covers everything at the venue.

Getting to Harrogate

  • By train – Harrogate station is about a seven-minute walk from the venue. LNER runs four direct trains a day from London King’s Cross, taking around 2 hours 46 minutes. Our guide to arriving by train helps you get your bearings.
  • By air – Leeds Bradford Airport is about 12 miles away, roughly 20 minutes by car, and the hourly A2 bus takes around 31 minutes.
  • By car – use HG1 2HR for the Convention Centre car park. Once you arrive, everything is within an easy walk.

Where to stay for BTME 2027

Anywhere in central Harrogate keeps you within walking distance of the halls, the education sessions and the town’s restaurants. Our guide to Harrogate Convention Centre accommodation compares the best areas. For a greenkeeping team from the same club, one larger home is often more sociable and better value than several hotel rooms, with a living room to compare notes after the seminars. Exhibitors staying for build-up and the full show will appreciate a kitchen for early breakfasts and a comfortable base for the week.

Evenings in Harrogate

After the halls close, good restaurants, pubs and wine bars are a few minutes’ walk away. See our guides to where to eat in Harrogate and the perfect Harrogate pub for our favourites, and book ahead if you are dining as a group. For a slower evening, the Turkish Baths are a lovely way to recharge before another day on the show floor.
