The short answer
Bear Grylls Harrogate fans can see his Never Give Up show at Harrogate Convention Centre on Saturday 13 March 2027, starting at 2pm. The easiest way to plan it is to stay in central Harrogate, within a short walk of Kings Road, so the whole family can stroll to the show and back. A serviced apartment or townhouse gives you room to spread out, a kitchen for breakfast and a relaxed base for the whole weekend.
Bear Grylls Harrogate: dates, times and the show
Never Give Up is a family-friendly live show of stories, survival and inspiration, with footage and images from Bear's adventures. He talks about his time in 21 SAS, climbing Everest, his role as Chief Ambassador to the Scouts and his recovery from a serious parachuting accident. The tour lists a running time of about 1 hour 50 minutes, including a 20-minute interval, so the show should finish a little before 4pm. That leaves the rest of the afternoon and evening free to enjoy the town.
- Date – Saturday 13 March 2027, 2pm
- Venue – Harrogate Convention Centre, Kings Road, HG1 5LA
- Age guidance – recommended for ages 8 and over; under-16s must be accompanied
Tickets
This is a Harrogate Theatre event, and the theatre lists tickets from £38 to £63. You can book on the Harrogate Theatre website or call the box office on 01423 502116, which is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. For wheelchair and companion seats, a quick phone call to the box office is the simplest way to book. Inside the venue, payments are by card and contactless, so there is no need to carry cash.
Getting there
- By train – Harrogate station is about a seven-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs four direct trains a day from London King's Cross, taking around 2 hours 46 minutes. Our guide to arriving by train helps you find your feet.
- By air – Leeds Bradford Airport is about 12 miles away, roughly 20 minutes by car, and the A2 bus runs hourly in about 31 minutes.
- By car – use HG1 2HR for the Convention Centre car park. The venue lists over 1,200 parking spaces in the centre of town, and arriving a little early makes for a calm start.
Where to stay
With a 2pm start, arriving on Friday evening turns the show into a proper family weekend. Central Harrogate keeps you within walking distance of the venue, the shops and plenty of places to eat. Our homes suit families and groups of friends, with separate bedrooms, a full kitchen and a living room to gather in after the show. Eating before and after
A relaxed lunch in town before a 2pm show works well, and there are cafes and restaurants within a few minutes of Kings Road. After the show, an early dinner is easy to fit in, and it suits younger children too. Our guide to where to eat in Harrogate has our favourite tables for families and groups. The venue also serves refreshments, so you can pick up a drink at the interval.
Make a weekend of it
Bear's message is all about getting outside, and Harrogate makes that easy. On Sunday morning, let the children run on the Stray, 200 acres of open grass right in the centre of town, or explore Valley Gardens and its play areas. If you fancy a bigger adventure, our best day trips from Harrogate include the Yorkshire Dales and the moors. It is a lovely way to carry the show's spirit into the rest of your stay.
