The short answer

AireCon Harrogate 2027 runs from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 March at Harrogate Convention Centre, and it will be the final AireCon, so expect a big, joyful send-off. The easiest way to enjoy it is to stay in central Harrogate, within a short walk of the halls, so you can play late and stroll back to bed. A serviced apartment or townhouse gives a gaming group shared space, a kitchen and a table for one more game.

AireCon Harrogate 2027: dates and opening times

The organisers have named this last edition Airemageddon and promise the biggest AireCon yet, with games, events, guests and a few surprises. It takes place in the Exhibition Halls at Harrogate Convention Centre, Kings Road, HG1 5LA. The published opening times make it easy to plan a full weekend of play:

  • Thursday 11 March – 4pm to 11pm
  • Friday 12 March – 10am to 1.30am (Halls A, B and C after 11pm)
  • Saturday 13 March – 10am to 1.30am (Halls A, B and C after 11pm)
  • Sunday 14 March – 10am to 6pm, with open gaming from 4pm

If you book your tickets in advance, you can get in 30 minutes before opening from Friday to Sunday. Tickets are sold through the AireCon website, which also has the full programme and latest details.

What's on at the festival

AireCon is a friendly, inclusive analog gaming festival with exhibitors and demos, tournaments, RPG sessions and plenty of open tables. A free library of more than 500 games, run with Travelling Man, lets you try something new without buying it first. Families can head to the Imagination Gaming Family Zone in Hall C from Friday to Sunday. The exhibitors in Hall M are open from 10am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday and until 4pm on Sunday.

The Bring n Buy

If you are selling games, you can drop them off at Entrance 5 on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm, with no pass needed just to drop off. The Bring n Buy then runs in Hall C from 10am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday and until 3pm on Sunday, with collections from 3pm to 4pm. You'll need a pass for each day you go in. Payments at the Convention Centre are by card and contactless.

Getting there

  • By train – Harrogate station is about a seven-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs four direct trains a day from London King's Cross, taking around 2 hours 46 minutes. See our guide to arriving by train.
  • By air – Leeds Bradford Airport is about 12 miles away, roughly 20 minutes by car, and the A2 bus runs hourly in about 31 minutes.
  • By car – use HG1 2HR for the Convention Centre car park, which is handy if you are bringing a boot full of games.

Where to stay for late-night gaming

With the halls open until 1.30am on Friday and Saturday, a base within walking distance is the best thing you can book. Our central homes are a short stroll from the Convention Centre, so there is no need to plan around taxis. A whole home suits a gaming group perfectly, with a big table, a kitchen for breakfast and space to store your haul. Our Convention Centre accommodation guide and our guide to choosing the right neighbourhood cover the best areas.

Eating, drinking and a breather

Harrogate's restaurants and pubs are a few minutes' walk from the halls, which makes a group dinner easy to fit between sessions. Our guides to where to eat and the perfect pub in Harrogate have our favourites. On a slower morning, good coffee and a walk on the Stray are a lovely reset before the next game.
