The short answer

The Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show Harrogate 2026 runs from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November at Harrogate Convention Centre. Claim your free tickets online, plan which talks and advice sessions you want, and stay centrally so you can walk to the halls. For a two- or three-day visit, a serviced apartment gives you room to spread out plans and brochures, with a kitchen for easy evenings.

Whether you're planning a self-build, an extension or a full renovation, the show brings hundreds of brands and suppliers, free expert advice and a full programme of seminars and masterclasses under one roof. It's organised by Future, and the Homebuilding & Renovating shows have been running for more than 30 years. This guide covers the practical side of your visit, from tickets to where to stay.

Dates and opening times

The show takes place in the Exhibition Halls at Harrogate Convention Centre, Kings Road (HG1 5LA). The organiser lists these hours:

  • Friday 30 October – 10am to 5pm
  • Saturday 31 October – 10am to 5pm
  • Sunday 1 November – 10am to 4.30pm

With so much to see, it's worth considering two days, or splitting your time between the show floor and the town. A central stay makes either option easy.

Tickets for the Homebuilding & Renovating Show Harrogate

The organiser is offering two free tickets, worth £24 according to the venue, when you register in advance on the show website. Children aged 16 and under go free. You need a ticket for each day you plan to attend, and tickets are also available on the door. The Convention Centre takes card and contactless payments, so a bank card or phone is all you need on the day.

Making the most of the advice and talks

The Advice Centre is one of the best reasons to go, with free one-to-one sessions covering design, planning, self-build, heating and eco, quantity surveying and finance. Consultations are booked at the show itself, so head there soon after the doors open to secure your slot. Seminars and masterclasses don't need booking, and arriving a little early gets you a good seat. Bring plot plans, photos or a rough budget, as they make your conversations with experts much more useful.

Getting here

  • By train – Harrogate station is about a seven-minute walk from the venue. LNER runs four direct trains a day from London King's Cross, taking around 2 hours 46 minutes. Our guide to arriving by train helps you get your bearings.
  • By air – Leeds Bradford Airport is about 12 miles away, roughly 20 minutes by car, and the hourly A2 bus takes around 31 minutes.
  • By car – the show lists several car parks within a ten-minute walk of the venue, and HG1 2HR takes you to the Convention Centre car park.

Where to stay

Staying in central Harrogate means you can walk to the halls, drop brochures and samples back at your accommodation at lunchtime and return for the afternoon talks. Our guide to choosing the right neighbourhood in Harrogate compares the areas, and our Convention Centre accommodation guide covers staying near the venue.

A serviced apartment or townhouse suits show visitors particularly well. There's a table to lay out drawings and quotes, a kitchen for breakfast before the doors open and space for the whole family or your project team. It also turns a busy show into a relaxed weekend away.

After the show

Harrogate's restaurants and pubs are a short walk from the Convention Centre, and our guide to where to eat in Harrogate has our favourites. On the Saturday or Sunday, a walk through the Montpellier Quarter or an hour at the Turkish Baths is a lovely way to talk through everything you've learned.
