Wild Women Live
Wild Women Live brings Michaela Strachan, Anna Dimitriadis and other female wildlife presenters and filmmakers to Harrogate's Royal Hall on Thursday 13 May 2027, with a 7.30pm start and tickets from £36.
What Wild Women Live is
Wild Women Live is a touring stage show about the women who make wildlife television. Presenters, filmmakers, camera operators and storytellers who have worked for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Netflix and National Geographic talk about filming in difficult places and what the job involves. The tour covers 29 UK venues in spring 2027 and is sponsored by the RSPB and Volvo.
Michaela Strachan and wildlife cinematographer Anna Dimitriadis appear at every date. The line-up listed for Harrogate also includes filmmaker Libby Penman and environmental journalist and author Sarah Roberts. Line-ups can change, so check the tour website nearer the time.
Dates and times
The Harrogate show is on Thursday 13 May 2027 in the Royal Hall, with a 7.30pm start. We have not found a published doors time. The Royal Hall is on Ripon Road, HG1 2SY, and is part of the Harrogate Convention Centre complex.
Tickets and who it suits
This is a public evening show, not a trade event. Harrogate Theatre lists tickets at £36 to £72, and the top price is for a box that seats two. Concessions are available. The show is recommended for ages 14 and over, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. It is a good fit for anyone who watches nature programmes and for older children and teenagers curious about careers in wildlife filming.
Tickets are sold through Harrogate Theatre and the tour website. For ticketing enquiries, call the box office on 01423 502116. The Royal Hall and Convention Centre accept card and contactless payments only, so do not plan on paying by cash.
Getting to the Royal Hall
Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs direct trains to and from London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. The Convention Centre lists more than 1,200 parking spaces in the centre of town if you are driving.
Book early and stay close
A Thursday evening in May is a popular time to visit Harrogate, and the show falls the night after the tour plays Newcastle and the night before Keswick. If you are travelling from further afield, an overnight stay saves a late journey home. Our serviced apartments and townhouses are in central Harrogate, many a short walk from the Royal Hall. They suit couples, friends travelling together and families, and the kitchens help if you want an early meal before the show. Booking a few months ahead gives you the best choice.
After the show
The show should finish in good time for a late supper or a drink. Harrogate has plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the Royal Hall. If you are staying a second night, the Turkish Baths are a relaxing way to spend the next morning before heading home.
