What's on in Harrogate
We Will Rock You
Harrogate St Andrew's Players stage the Queen musical at Harrogate Theatre, 21 to 24 October 2026, with evening shows and a Saturday matinee.
What it is and who goes
We Will Rock You is the Queen and Ben Elton musical, set in a future where live music is banned and everyone is expected to conform. This production comes from Harrogate St Andrew's Players, a community musical theatre group that has staged its autumn show at Harrogate Theatre for many years. The score uses more than 20 Queen songs, including Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love and We Are the Champions.
Dates and times
There are five performances at Harrogate Theatre on Oxford Street. Evening shows start at 7.30pm on Wednesday 21, Thursday 22, Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026. A matinee starts at 2.30pm on Saturday 24 October. One listing gives the evening finish as about 10pm, so plan for a late night.
For visitors
This is a public show, with no trade or exhibitor side. Standard tickets cost £28.50. A box that seats four is £114, and the theatre notes that boxes can have a restricted view. Groups of four or more can use a mini group offer on opening night. The theatre recommends the show for ages 14 and over, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied. Babes in arms are not admitted because of the volume.
The theatre's listing marks Thursday 22 October as a BSL-interpreted performance. For wheelchair and companion bookings, call the box office on 01423 502116.
Getting there
Harrogate Theatre is in the town centre, so you can walk to it from most central accommodation. By train, LNER runs direct services to and from London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away. The station is about a 10-minute walk from Harrogate Convention Centre. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi.
Booking early
Tickets are sold through Harrogate Theatre's box office, which is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and through its website. Choose your seats early if you want a particular price band or a box. Our central apartments and townhouses suit a group travelling together, with space to meet before the show and a kitchen for a quiet breakfast the next morning. If you are coming from further afield for the Saturday double, staying with us lets you drop your bags between performances.
After the show
The evening performances finish late, so most people will want a table booked for dinner before the curtain or a drink in one of the town centre bars afterwards. If you are staying on, the Turkish Baths are a relaxed way to spend the following morning.
