What's on in Harrogate
The ELO Experience
The ELO Experience, a tribute show to Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra, plays Harrogate's Royal Hall on Saturday 16 January 2027 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £34 to £68 from Harrogate Theatre.
What the show is
The ELO Experience is a tribute show to Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra. The company has been performing the band's music live since 2006, and this tour marks 20 years of the show. The programme draws on the hits and album tracks, including Evil Woman, Livin' Thing, Don't Bring Me Down and Mr Blue Sky. The production uses a string section, a light show and large-screen projection. The tour organisers note that it includes strobe and flashing lights and haze effects, which is worth knowing if anyone in your group is sensitive to them.
Dates and times
The Harrogate performance is on Saturday 16 January 2027 at the Royal Hall, Ripon Road. It starts at 7.30pm. We could not find a published doors time, so check your ticket confirmation or ask the box office. This is a single-night show in Harrogate, so there is nothing to book for other days.
Tickets and who it suits
The show is open to the public. Tickets are sold by Harrogate Theatre, which is presenting the event, at £34 to £68. The top price is for a box that seats two, and boxes may have a restricted view. Harrogate Theatre recommends the show for ages 12 and over, with under-16s accompanied by an adult. You can book through the Harrogate Theatre website or by phoning the box office on 01423 502116. The box office is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Wheelchair and companion bookings are made by phone. The Royal Hall and Harrogate Convention Centre take card and contactless payments only.
Getting there
Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre and the Royal Hall. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly. Leeds is about 35 minutes away by train, and Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. If you are driving, the Convention Centre lists over 1,200 parking spaces in the centre of town. Winter evenings are busy, so allow extra time to park.
Book early
A Saturday night in January is a good time to make a short break of it. Central accommodation is easier to find the earlier you ask, and Saturday nights tend to go first. Tickets for the ELO Experience at other venues on this tour have sold out or been marked as selling fast, so it is sensible to secure your seats before arranging the stay.
After the show
Harrogate has plenty of places for a late dinner or a drink within walking distance of the Royal Hall. If you are staying on until Sunday, the Turkish Baths are a relaxed way to start the next morning. Check opening hours and booking requirements with them beforehand.
