What the show is and who it is for
Tez Ilyas is bringing his new stand-up show, Tez Things I Hate About You, to Harrogate Studio Theatre on Oxford Street. It is a one-night date on a national autumn tour presented by UTC Live, and it forms part of Harrogate Comedy Festival 2026. Ilyas is known for Man Like Mobeen on BBC Three, Live at the Apollo on BBC Two and Fighting Talk on BBC Radio 5 Live. He also wrote The Secret Diary of a British Muslim Aged 13 3/4. Dates and times
The performance is on Thursday 15 October 2026 and starts at 8:00pm. Harrogate Theatre lists tickets at £33. Other listings give a slightly different price, so check the box office page for the current figure. We have not confirmed a doors time, so look at your ticket or contact the box office before you travel.
For visitors
Tickets are sold through Harrogate Theatre. You can book on the theatre's event page or call the box office on 01423 502116. The Studio Theatre is the smaller of the theatre's two spaces, so a one-night show like this can fill up quickly. If you are coming from outside town, a short stay of one or two nights makes the evening easier, with no last train to catch after the show.
Getting there
Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre, and the town centre is compact enough to cover on foot. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly once an hour. Leeds is about 35 minutes away by train. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. Many of our apartments and townhouses are a short walk from the Convention Centre and the Royal Hall, so you can walk home after the show.
Book early
Harrogate Comedy Festival runs across several venues in October and November, so rooms in the centre can be taken well before a given show. If you want a particular apartment or townhouse for 15 October, it is sensible to reserve it as soon as you have your tickets. We are a local family-run company and are happy to help with questions about location or group sizes.
After the show
A comedy night leaves you well placed for a late dinner, and Harrogate has plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the theatre. If you are staying an extra night, the Turkish Baths are a relaxed way to spend the next morning before heading home.
