Swan Lake: Imperial Classical Ballet
Imperial Classical Ballet performs Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake with a live orchestra at Harrogate's Royal Hall on Wednesday 28 October 2026, 7.30pm. Tickets £46 to £96, under 16s £29.
What it is
Imperial Classical Ballet brings Swan Lake to the Royal Hall for one evening. The company is the touring brand of Amande Concerts, which is marking 20 years of taking classical productions around UK theatres this year. The ballet follows Princess Odette, who is under a curse, and Prince Siegfried, whose promise to her is tested by the sorcerer Rothbart and his daughter Odile. Tchaikovsky's score is played live. It is a public theatre performance and suits adults and children who enjoy ballet.
Date and times
The performance is on Wednesday 28 October 2026 and starts at 7.30pm. Harrogate Theatre lists the running time as about 120 minutes, so expect to leave at around 9.30pm. No doors time has been published, so check your ticket confirmation. The Royal Hall is on Ripon Road, HG1 2SY, next to the Convention Centre.
Tickets and who it is for
Tickets are sold by Harrogate Theatre, not by the Convention Centre. Prices run from £46 to £96, and the top price is for a box seating two, which may have a restricted view. Under 16s pay £29 and concessions are available. The performance is recommended for all ages, but under 16s must be accompanied. The Royal Hall takes card and contactless payments only. The box office is on 01423 502116 and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Wheelchair and companion bookings need to be made by phone.
Getting there
Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away. Leeds Bradford Airport is around 30 minutes by taxi. If you are driving, the town centre has over 1,200 parking spaces. Our apartments and townhouses are in central Harrogate, many a short walk from the Royal Hall. Guests coming from further away can arrive in the afternoon, settle in and walk across for the evening. They can also stay the night rather than travel home after a late finish on a weeknight.
Booking early
This is a single performance in a hall with a fixed number of seats, and the cheaper tickets and boxes tend to go first. The same tour is also playing in York, Sheffield and Scarborough in October, so it is worth booking your seats and your stay together once you have chosen the date.
After the performance
With a 7.30pm start, many restaurants and bars in the town centre are still serving when the curtain falls, though it is sensible to book a table for after the show. Many visitors eat beforehand instead, which leaves time to relax afterwards. The next morning, the Turkish Baths in Harrogate are a good way to unwind, but check their opening times and booking rules first. If you would like a base for the night, get in touch with us at Short Stay Harrogate and we will help you find the right apartment or townhouse for your group.
