Some Guys Have All the Luck: The Rod Stewart Story
A tribute concert to Rod Stewart's career, fronted by Paul Metcalfe with a live band, at Harrogate's Royal Hall on Sunday 3 October 2027 at 7.30pm. Tickets run from £33 to £70.
What the show is
Some Guys Have All the Luck: The Rod Stewart Story is a live tribute concert that follows Rod Stewart's career across six decades, from the R&B clubs of the 1960s to stadium-level fame. Paul Metcalfe fronts it, backed by a live band and period costumes. The 2027 tour marks ten years of the production. The setlist includes Maggie May, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?, Baby Jane, Sailing, The First Cut Is The Deepest and Tonight's The Night. The tour's own website says it has the backing of Rod Stewart's family. It suits fans of 1970s and 80s rock and pop, and groups of friends or couples looking for a night out.
Date and times
The Harrogate performance is on Sunday 3 October 2027 at the Royal Hall, with a 7.30pm start. A doors time has not been published. On other dates on this tour the running time is listed as about 2 hours 20 minutes including an interval, so expect a finish at around 10pm. Check with the box office nearer the date.
Tickets and who can go
This is a public event and Harrogate Theatre is the promoter for the date. Tickets cost £33 to £70, and the top price is for a box that seats two. The venue recommends it for ages 14 and over, and under-16s must be accompanied. Book through Harrogate Theatre on 01423 502116 or at boxoffice@harrogatetheatre.co.uk. The Royal Hall and Harrogate Convention Centre take card and contactless payments only, so don't plan on paying cash.
Getting there
The Royal Hall sits next to Harrogate Convention Centre in the middle of town. Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk away. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes by train. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. The Convention Centre says there are over 1,200 parking spaces in the centre of town, but a Sunday evening in October can still be busy. Many of our apartments and townhouses are a short walk from the Royal Hall, which means no driving and no queue for a taxi at the end of the night.
Book early
Boxes and the better seats tend to go first for popular tribute shows, and Harrogate has plenty of other events in autumn. Tickets for the Royal Hall date are already on sale. If you want to stay overnight, it makes sense to sort the accommodation at the same time. A Sunday night stay also means you aren't travelling home late before a working Monday.
Before and after the show
Harrogate has a wide choice of places to eat within an easy walk of the Convention Centre, so a pre-show dinner is simple to arrange. Book ahead, as Sunday tables for a 7.30pm start fill up. Afterwards, the town's bars and wine bars are close by. On Monday morning you could visit the Turkish Baths in Harrogate before heading home. If you are planning a weekend around the concert, our team can help with apartment size and length of stay. Just get in touch.
