What the show is and who goes

The Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show is a three-day consumer exhibition in the Exhibition Halls at Harrogate Convention Centre. It is run by Future, the publisher behind Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, and is one of eight shows the brand holds across the UK each year. It is aimed at people planning a self-build, an extension, a loft or garage conversion, or a renovation, and it also welcomes people who work in the building trade.

The organiser says there are more than 250 exhibitors, three theatres and over 40 sessions across the weekend. Stands cover kitchens, bathrooms, heating and home energy, doors and windows, and more. Entry also includes the seminar and masterclass theatres and the free Advice Centre, where experts such as planning specialists, architects and home energy advisers give 15-minute one-to-one consultations.

Dates and opening times

The show runs from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. It is open 10am to 5pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday. A ticket is needed for each day you attend.

For visitors

The organiser is offering two free tickets per registration, which the venue values at £24. The offer closes at 3pm on 1 November. Tickets can also be bought online until 3pm the day before each day, and after that on the door. Children aged 16 and under do not need a ticket but must be with an adult. Only assistance dogs are admitted. The Convention Centre takes card and contactless payments only.

You do not book seminars or masterclasses, but popular sessions fill up, so arrive in good time. Advice Centre appointments can only be booked at the show on the day, so it is worth going early if you want one.

Getting to Harrogate

Harrogate station is roughly a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre, and there are taxis outside the station. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away by train. Leeds Bradford Airport is the nearest airport, about 20 to 30 minutes by taxi. If you drive, the organiser lists several car parks within a 10-minute walk, including Jubilee and Victoria. Check each car park's closing time if you plan to stay late.

Booking early

Hotels fill quickly in Harrogate when a large event is on, so it is sensible to arrange your stay as soon as your dates are fixed. Our serviced apartments and townhouses are in central Harrogate, many a short walk from the Convention Centre. If you are coming with a partner, family or a few members of your project team, a self-contained apartment gives you space to talk through what you have seen over a meal.

After the show

Once the halls close, the town centre is close by. Harrogate has plenty of restaurants for dinner and a good choice of bars for a drink afterwards. If you want to unwind, the Turkish Baths are a short walk from the centre, though it is worth checking their opening times and booking ahead. If you would like to stay with us, get in touch with your dates and group size and we will help you find the right apartment or townhouse.
