What it is and who goes

John Lydon: Talk Tour is a spoken-word evening with the man best known as Johnny Rotten, frontman of the Sex Pistols and later Public Image Ltd. It is linked to his book, I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right. He talks about how he sees life and about his career, and takes questions from the audience. Signed copies of the book will be on sale. It is a public, ticketed night out for fans of punk, music history and plain-speaking storytelling. The tour is promoted by A Way With Media, and Harrogate Theatre sells the tickets for this date.

Date, time and tickets

The Harrogate show is on Tuesday 27 October 2026 at Harrogate Theatre, Oxford Street, HG1 1QF. The start time is 7.30pm. Tickets run from £38 to £152. The top price is for a box seating four, and boxes may have a restricted view. A meet and greet with a goody bag is £88. The theatre recommends the show for ages 14+, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. For wheelchair and companion bookings, call the box office on 01423 502116. The theatre's listing also shows captioned, relaxed, audio described and BSL interpreted performance icons, so check with the box office which of those apply to this date.

For visitors

This is a single evening, so most people will arrive in the afternoon or early evening. The theatre is in the town centre, a short walk from the Convention Centre and the Royal Hall. If you are coming for a weekday show, a central base means you can walk to the theatre and back without worrying about parking or taxis. Our apartments and townhouses are spread across central Harrogate, and a number are an easy walk from the theatre. They suit couples, groups of friends travelling together and anyone wanting a bit more space than a hotel room offers.

Getting there

Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly. Leeds is about 35 minutes away by train. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. Anyone driving should check the town's car parks in advance, as central parking can be busy on show nights.

Book early

Tickets go through Harrogate Theatre's own box office. Boxes and meet and greet places are limited, so decide early if you want those options. Other dates on this tour are close by, in Lancaster the night before and Prescot the night after. Some visitors may be planning a wider trip around the North, which is another reason to settle your accommodation sooner rather than later. October is a busy month for the town.

After the show

Harrogate has plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance of the theatre, from relaxed restaurants to cocktail bars and traditional pubs. Booking a table for after the show is sensible on a Tuesday night, as kitchens can close earlier than you might expect. If you are staying a little longer, the Turkish Baths are a popular way to spend the following morning. Whether you stay with us or elsewhere, we are happy to suggest walking routes between the theatre and the town centre.
