Jeremy Bowen: Truth Under Fire
The BBC's International Editor Jeremy Bowen talks about reporting from conflict zones and the struggle for reliable information, followed by audience questions. Royal Hall, Harrogate, Friday 22 October 2027, 7.30pm.
What the evening is
Jeremy Bowen: Truth Under Fire is a live talk by the BBC's International Editor, who has reported for more than 40 years from over 90 countries and 20 wars. He will talk about covering conflicts such as Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, Sudan and Yemen. He will also cover how access for journalists is restricted, how competing claims spread online, and why press freedom is under pressure in war zones. The second half is given over to questions from the audience.
It is open to the public and suits anyone who follows international news. Harrogate Theatre is presenting it at the Royal Hall as part of a UK tour produced by Fane Productions.
