What it is and who goes
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue is the long-running BBC Radio 4 comedy panel show. On Sunday 6 December 2026 part of its 86th series will be recorded in front of a live audience in the Main Auditorium at Harrogate Convention Centre. Jack Dee chairs, a panel of guest comedians takes part, and Colin Sell plays piano. The recording is for later broadcast on Radio 4. Harrogate Theatre is promoting the date.
This is a ticketed evening for the general public, so expect fans of the programme, couples and groups of friends. The recommended age is 14 and over, and anyone under 16 must be with an adult.
Dates and times
There is one performance, on Sunday 6 December 2026. It starts at 7.30pm and is due to finish no later than 10.30pm. A doors time has not been published. The Harrogate Theatre listing gives ticket prices of £20 to £26, and bookings are limited to four tickets each.
Booking and tickets
Tickets are sold through Harrogate Theatre, whose box office is on 01423 502116. When we last checked, the theatre's page showed this date as sold out. If you are hoping for a ticket, it is worth asking the box office whether any come back. The theatre also lists wheelchair and companion bookings by phone only. The Convention Centre takes card and contactless payments only, so leave the cash at home.
For visitors
The Main Auditorium holds just under 2,000 seats, so allow time to arrive, find your seat and pick up a drink beforehand. If you are travelling from further away, the recording ends late enough on a Sunday that a bed for the night is easier than a rushed journey home.
Getting there
Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. The Centre has public car parks nearby, with over 1,200 spaces in the town centre.
Staying with us
Short Stay Harrogate is a family-run company with serviced apartments and townhouses in central Harrogate, many a short walk from the Convention Centre and the Royal Hall. An apartment gives you space to get ready, somewhere to eat before the show, and a quiet place to go back to afterwards. Early December is a busy period for the town, so it is sensible to book accommodation well ahead.
After the show
The recording finishes by 10.30pm, so plan your evening around a late finish. Many of Harrogate's restaurants and bars are within walking distance of the Centre, though some kitchens close early on a Sunday, so it is worth booking a table before the show. If you are staying the following day, the Turkish Baths in the town centre are a calm way to spend a morning.
