What Home & Gift Buyers' Festival is

Home & Gift is a trade show for the UK gift and home retail sector. It is run by Clarion Events and held at Harrogate Convention Centre, with outdoor and marquee areas in the grounds of the Majestic Hotel next door. The organiser reports more than 500 exhibiting brands, over 20,000 products and 6,000-plus visitors. Product areas include gift and homewares, fashion and jewellery, greetings and stationery, food and drink, and wellbeing. The venue describes it as the first event of the second buying season, when exhibitors show their autumn/winter collections.

Dates and opening times

The 2027 show runs from Sunday 18 to Wednesday 21 July. Opening hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and 9.30am to 4pm on Wednesday. Last year's programme included an early-evening drinks event on the opening Sunday, a show party in a town-centre pub on the Monday and drinks on the lawn on the Tuesday. The 2027 programme has not been published yet.

For exhibitors staying all week

Four show days mean stand teams are in Harrogate for several nights, plus build and pack-down time. Many exhibitors prefer a self-contained apartment to a hotel room. It gives you somewhere to store samples, make a proper breakfast and unwind away from the hall. Our apartments and townhouses suit a team sharing a stay, and several are a short walk from the Convention Centre.

For visitors

The show is for people working in retail. It is not open to the public, and exhibitors have minimum order policies. Registration is free, and a badge covers all four days. Badges are released as a print-at-home PDF about five weeks before the show, and you can also register on arrival. Children are not encouraged, and there is no creche. Only registered guide and assistance dogs are allowed in. The Convention Centre and Royal Hall take card and contactless payments only.

Getting there

Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. Driving is possible, but the venue has limited on-site parking, with larger car parks nearby at Jubilee and Victoria. Staying in the town centre means you can leave the car behind.

Book early

July is a busy month in Harrogate, and a four-day trade show takes up a lot of beds. If you want a particular location or a larger apartment for a group, it is sensible to book well ahead. We can help with stays of any length.

After the show

Once the halls close, the town centre is close by. Harrogate has plenty of restaurants for a team dinner, and bars for a quiet drink. If your feet are tired after three days on a show floor, the Turkish Baths are a good way to recover. Whichever apartment or townhouse you choose, you are never far from the halls or the evening events.
