Fanfare for Christmas
A Christmas concert at Harrogate's Royal Hall on Saturday 19 December 2026. Brighouse and Rastrick Band and Harrogate Gilbert and Sullivan Society perform seasonal music and carols, starting at 6pm.
What Fanfare for Christmas is
Fanfare for Christmas is an annual concert at the Royal Hall in Harrogate. The Brighouse and Rastrick Band, an award-winning brass band from West Yorkshire, plays alongside singers from Harrogate Gilbert and Sullivan Society. The programme mixes Christmas music with other pieces, and includes carols for the audience to sing. Harrogate Gilbert and Sullivan Society says it has held Christmas concerts with the band at the Royal Hall since 1986. The audience is mostly local families, brass band followers and people who like to start their Christmas season with live music.
Date and times
The concert is on Saturday 19 December 2026. Harrogate Theatre, which sells the tickets, lists a 6.00pm start and a running time of about 150 minutes, so expect it to finish at around 8.30pm. The band's own events page gives 6.30pm, so check your ticket for the time that applies.
Tickets and who it suits
It is open to everyone and suitable for all ages. Under-16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets range from £20 to £60, and the top price is for a box seating two. The Royal Hall takes card and contactless payments only. After the concert
With a finish at around 8.30pm, you can still have dinner in town. Harrogate has plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the Royal Hall, and it is worth booking a table in advance for that Saturday.
