BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) 2027
Free trade show for greenkeepers and turf managers at Harrogate Convention Centre, 26-28 January 2027, with Continue to Learn education from 24 January.
What BTME is and who goes
The BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition, known as BTME, is an annual trade show for golf greenkeepers, sports turf managers, golf club owners and the companies that supply them. It is run by BIGGA, the greenkeepers' association, and takes place at Harrogate Convention Centre. BIGGA says it brings around 5,000 delegates to town, and its website promotes more than 100 exhibitors showing machinery, seed, turf-care products and technology. A education programme called Continue to Learn runs alongside the show.
Dates and opening times
Continue to Learn runs from Sunday 24 to Thursday 28 January 2027. The trade show itself is on Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 January. BIGGA's visitor page gives opening hours of 9am to 5pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and 9am to 1pm on Thursday. Another page on the same site mentions a 2.30pm close on Thursday, so check the final schedule before you book travel home. The BIGGA Celebration, a free awards event, is in the Royal Hall on Tuesday evening from 5.15pm.
For exhibitors and delegates staying all week
If you are exhibiting, you will be on site from set-up through to the last afternoon, and the education programme means many delegates arrive on the Sunday. A serviced apartment suits a stay of four or five nights. You get a kitchen for early starts, space to lay out paperwork and a washing machine in some apartments, and a living area for hosting colleagues or customers away from a hotel bar. Our apartments and townhouses sit in central Harrogate, many a short walk from the Convention Centre. Groups can often share a townhouse rather than book several hotel rooms.
For visitors
Entry is free, but you must register. You can register in advance or on site, though BIGGA recommends doing it beforehand to avoid queuing. You will receive an e-ticket by email. Some Continue to Learn conferences and classes are booked and paid for separately. Please note that the Convention Centre accepts card and contactless payments only, so cash will not work for food and drink in the halls.
Getting there
Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away by train. Leeds Bradford Airport is about 30 minutes by taxi. If you drive, the Convention Centre has its own car park, and BIGGA points to roughly 1,200 further spaces in the town centre.
Book early
BTME is held in late January, when Harrogate's other conferences are also running, and the town has around 2,000 beds in total. BIGGA's official accommodation partner is MICE Concierge, and its details are on the BTME travel page. If you would rather have your own apartment or a townhouse, get in touch with us as early as you can, because the best locations tend to go first.
After the event
Harrogate has plenty of places to eat within walking distance of the Convention Centre, from restaurants to fish and chip shops, and a good number of bars for catching up with colleagues. If you have an hour free, the Turkish Baths are a good way to recover after a day on your feet. Staying centrally means you can walk back to your apartment rather than rely on taxis.
