What the show is

Bear Grylls: Never Give Up is a touring live talk by the adventurer, television presenter and author. It is built around stories from his career, including his years in 21 SAS, climbing Everest and working with the Scouts. Audiences can expect unseen footage and photographs, plus the tale of his recovery from a parachuting accident. The show is pitched at families, so you will see school-age children there alongside adults who grew up watching Man vs. Wild.

Dates and times

There is a single Harrogate performance, on Saturday 13 March 2027 in the Main Auditorium at Harrogate Convention Centre. Harrogate Theatre lists a 2.00pm start, so this is an afternoon show rather than an evening one. We could not find a published finish time or door time for Harrogate. Other venues on the tour have listed a running time of about 1 hour 50 minutes including an interval, but check this with the box office before you plan your day.

For visitors

This is a public, ticketed event. Harrogate Theatre lists prices from £38 to £63. The recommended age is 8 and over, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied. Tickets are sold through Harrogate Theatre, whose box office is on 01423 502116 or bookings@harrogatetheatre.co.uk. Wheelchair and companion bookings need to be made by phone. The venue says the Convention Centre and Royal Hall take card and contactless payments only, so don't plan on paying with cash.

Getting there

Harrogate station is about a 10-minute walk from the Convention Centre. LNER runs direct trains to London King's Cross roughly hourly, and Leeds is about 35 minutes away by train. Leeds Bradford Airport is around 30 minutes by taxi. If you are driving, the town centre has more than 1,200 parking spaces, though a Saturday in March can be busy, so allow extra time.

Book early

A family show on a Saturday afternoon will suit a lot of people who want to make a weekend of it. Book your tickets first, then sort out where you are staying, as central rooms are limited on popular weekends. It also helps to know whether you want to travel the day before, particularly if you are coming with children.

After the show

With a 2pm start, you should be free by late afternoon, which leaves time for an early dinner in town. Harrogate has plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the Convention Centre, from family-friendly places to more formal dining. Adults may prefer a drink in one of the town's bars. If you are staying overnight, the Turkish Baths on Parliament Street are a good way to unwind on Sunday morning. Check their opening hours and age policy before you go.
